Giftwise is a free tool. These terms set out the basis on which you may use it. They are deliberately short. Please read them.
What Giftwise is
Giftwise is a personal gift planner that runs entirely in your browser. It is provided free of charge by Coldharbour Tech Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 17185625), on an "as-is" basis.
What Giftwise is not
- It is not a shop. Giftwise does not sell any products. When you click a gift suggestion, you are taken to a third-party retailer's website where any purchase happens directly between you and them.
- It is not a guarantee. Product information shown in Giftwise (prices, availability, descriptions) may be out of date. Always confirm details on the retailer's own site before buying.
- It is not a backup service. Your data lives on your device. We do not have a copy.
Permitted use
You may use Giftwise for personal, non-commercial purposes — to plan and track your own gift-giving. You may share wishlist links with friends and family. You may export your data and keep your own backups.
You may not use Giftwise to:
- Send unsolicited messages to anyone
- Resell, republish, or commercially exploit the catalogue or other content
- Reverse engineer or attempt to interfere with the service
- Misrepresent yourself in shared wishlists in a way that could deceive others
Affiliate links
Giftwise contains affiliate links to UK retailers. When you click through and buy something, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how the project funds itself. We never receive payment to feature specific retailers or products. Full detail in the affiliate disclosure.
Third-party services
Some Giftwise features connect to third-party services (Open Food Facts for barcode lookups; jsDelivr/unpkg CDNs for libraries; affiliate retailers when you click through). When you use those features, the third party's terms and privacy policy apply to that interaction. We are not responsible for the conduct of those services.
No warranty
Giftwise is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee that it will be available, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Coldharbour Tech Limited and its representatives are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including (but not limited to) lost data, missed occasions, or unsatisfactory gift purchases. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (such as for fraud or death/personal injury due to negligence).
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of Giftwise after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
